The Epoca is the perfect machine for the serious home entertainer, bistros and those bars and smaller restaurants needing a robust and reliable single group machine. A press of the soft-touch delivery buttons activates the powerful rotary pump and delivers up to four preset coffee sizes. A fifth button acts as a manual start/stop coffee delivery switch.
The drip tray design includes removable sections that are constructed of high endurance scratch poof polymers and can easily be cleaned either by hand or in the dishwasher. The redesigned drip tray quickly removes and excess coffee thus keeping the bottoms of the cups perfectly clean.
The 11 liter copper boiler features a fully welded heat exchanger. Fully welded means there will never be leaking gaskets to deal with down the road. With features such as electronic boiler water level and an anti-syphon valve (prevents accidental milk infiltration into boiler), the Epoca DE 2 is low maintenance. Another innovation from Rancilio is the elimination of the old mechanical pressurestat. Mechanical pressurestats are prone to wide temperature swings, causing more variability in the espresso pour. Rancilio has solved this with a reliable and accurate electronic thermocouple, which has a much longer lifespan, in addition to its improved temperature stability.
The Epoca is fitted with Clever steam handle which allows you to steam milk effortlessly without any knobs to turn. The Clever's ergonomic handle has been designed for ease of use in multiple positions. Flip the "Clever" handle up to the auto-lock position which allows you to quickly steam and froth milk with maximum speed. From the neutral/off position turn the steam valve down a quarter turn and it opens completely for feathering or touching up steamed milk - giving the Barista maximum control.
